Working a plan you will be shown how to 'set out the site', and lay metal tracks in readiness for the studwork, you will be instructed on how to transfer the track from ceiling to floor, leveling in the studwork.
How to leave windows and door opening changing direction of the studwork to form a 'splay' and corner.
You will be taught the correct method of measuring, cutting and fixing plasterboard, and how to fix difficult obstacles, door and window returns, splayed walls and ceilings. We will show you the use of several taping methods, paper, fibre and metal corners, and how to apply and bed in these tapes.
We will teach you the caulking techniques to achieve flush joints to internal and external corners, how to ‘feather out’ joints and sand down to form walls and ceilings ready for decoration.
You will be taught how to apply plasterboard directly onto concrete/thermal blocks and brickwork. (The dot-dab method).
Also covered in this course is the correct procedure and application of the M.F. system for suspended ceilings and The Gypliner wall system.
This is a very comprehensive first step into the world of drylining.
Certification for this course can be used towards NVQ units VR01, VR03, VR129, VR130 and VR131.
Tools and materials will be supplied however you will need to bring along overalls or working clothing. A change of footwear is essential!
