Course Description
This course is designed to cover the syllabus for the Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist in Windows Vista, and the syllabus for Microsoft Certified IT Professional Server Administrator on Microsoft Windows Server 2008.Official Microsoft course materials are used throughout and the course consists of a mix of lecture, hands-on practical and practice assessment.

Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs at Grade C or above in appropriate subjects and at least two A Levels. or GNVQ Advanced or National Diploma or similar.

• 70-642: TS: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure, Configuring
• 70-646: Pro: Windows Server 2008, Server Administrator
• 70-640: TS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring

Assessment: You will be assessed through online examinations, closely based on the Microsoft Certified Professional Examinations - you may also choose to take the MCP examinations on site in our Prometric testing centre. For our students these exams are half-price.

Progression Routes: Helpdesk Professional, IT Security, Technician, IT Trainer, Network Engineer, Server Administrator, Computer Systems Administrator/Engineer. You may also consider the Foundation Degree in Computing on a full or part-time basis.
