Course programme
A follow-on from 'Introduction to millinery,' this millinery course will help to develop your understanding of design, proportion, balance and the application of colour, taking your millinery knowledge a stage further. You'll learn how to select from a wide range of woven and knitted fabrics, felts and straw for millinery, and how to apply these to your designs. The selection and use of foundation materials is also covered.
You'll also be introduced to the art of draping fabrics either as a trimming or for a whole hat, along with techniques for blocking felt, straw and foundation materials to help you develop your manipulation skills.
By the time you've finished the course, you should have completed a parasisal and a cocktail hat.
Level:
Intermediate. You should have completed the beginners level course or have equivalent experience.
