- Historical Research: Historical Research: Theory, Skills & Methods
- Themes in Modern History
Students are required to take two of the following:
- Matters of Life & Death: Topics in the Medical humanities
- Themes and Approaches to the Historical Study of Religious Cultures
- Themes & Approaches to the Historical Study of Consumption
- Themes & Approaches to the Historical Study of Empire
- Themes & Approaches to the Historical Study of Gender & Sexuality
All course-specific core modules and optional modules will be delivered by weekly two-hour seminars, and the MA methdological core module (HI989) by a variety of lectures, seminars and workshops.
Assessment:
All modules apart from the dissertation will be assessed solely by the submission of a 6,000 word essay. A 15,000 word dissertation is required (20,000 for MA in History of Medicine students). The dissertation project will be undertaken under the supervision of one of the Department’s faculty members.
