Course Content: This course is designed for a wide range of learners, including those with specific learning disabilities who have progressed from our Entry Courses

The aim of the qualification is to give learners the opportunity to gain knowledge and understanding of a range of skills with relevance to the area of motor vehicle. The course is designed as an introduction to the work place and will help you develop the skills you need to work in the Motor Vehicle industry.

To achieve full qualification students must complete at least 6 units.

There are 2 core units:

· Health and Safety, which is compulsory

· Introduction to Engineering Equipment & Materials

· Introduction to Spark Ignition and Power Units

· Introduction to Vehicle Braking Systems

· Introduction to Wheels and Tyres

· Introduction to Vehicle Exhaust Systems

Course Format: Learners are assessed through a portfolio of evidence when the learner is ready. Units are assessed by a formal written assignment for each unit which will be both internally and externally verified.

Progression: Progression can be either laterally or vertically onto other qualifications.

Students who successfully complete the course may be able to progress onto ABC Diploma or onto IMI Technical Award
