Motor Vehicle Maintenance for Ladies - March 2017: Site Johnson Building

Course Content: You will learn how to keep your car running during the winter months and how to keep it safely on the road for the rest of year. This course empowers ladies to deal with car maintenance jobs such as: •Weekly vehicle checks under the bonnet •Component identification under the bonnet •Checking and topping up fluids •Replacing wiper blades •Replacing bulbs •Identifying and checking tyre pressures •Identifying and measuring tread depths •Fitting a spare wheel •Understanding what dashboard lights mean •Preparing your car for winter How will I be assessed? Based mainly in our motor vehicle workshop, this course is a hands-on learning experience in which you will practise different techniques to ensure your car runs at its optimum level and remains road legal. Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? You need stout or steel toe-capped shoes for workshop sessions. Toe-capped attachments, overalls or smocks can be provided on request.
