Summary
This Level 3 Apprenticeship is designed for use in garages. The role may involve working independently or as part of a team and will involve developing, implementing, maintaining and improving skills required.
Course Content includes:
- The fundamentals of vehicle technologies e.g. vehicle systems such as chassis, engine, transmission, electrical, air conditioning, high voltage vehicles, etc.
- The types, and associated characteristics, of light vehicles e.g. front- or rear-wheel drive, four-wheel drive, etc.
- Carry out the foundation tasks common to all procedures e.g. removing and replacing bolts, screws and clips, replacing seals, extracting damaged fasteners, cutting, drilling, filing, using fabrication skills etc.
- Remove repair/replace components in line with manufacturer’s standards.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and efficient workshop and adhere to the garage’s business processes.
- Behave in accordance with the values of the company they work for.
- Service and maintain a vehicle without supervision.
You will complete the Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service & Maintenance Apprenticeship Standard.
- This Apprenticeship will involve college attendance and off the job training.
- You will also develop your knowledge, skills and behaviours.
- You need to have an employer to support your Apprenticeship and be employed in a relevant job role.
- The typical length of this Apprenticeship course is 36 months.
- This course starts in September.
