Movement Instructor

PRESENTATION

The course aims to train one student who is specifically interested in teaching movement-related subjects at senior level to universities, colleges, theatre companies and secondary schools.

The student is exposed to many different movement styles and dance techniques, whilst assimilating theory and teaching communication skills. Emphasis is placed strongly on the inter-relation between movement, Alexander Technique, voice and acting.

Experience in movement theatre, dance or gymnastics is necessary. The student therefore needs to be physically fit and able to participate in movement classes.

The course is therefore participatory as well as theoretical with emphasis on learning how to teach by example and demonstration. A good eye for observation is essential.
