Programme overview
The MRes in Economics is an intensive one-year taught programme that provides advanced training in economics and econometrics. It is designed for students who are interested in going on to further study at PhD level, and emphasises the knowledge and skills needed for PhD research.
The School of Economics, Finance and Management has an international reputation for research excellence. Faculty members in the school regularly publish in top international journals and the school is expanding following substantial recent success in research funding applications.

A good MSc degree (or equivalent qualification) in economics. Consideration may also be given to students with exceptional academic performance at undergraduate level.

Programme structure
You will study eight core units, split between teaching blocks one and two. The final part of the MRes is a dissertation of up to 15,000 words, individually supervised by a member of staff from the economics department.
