To to evaluate current and emerging advanced engineering materials and manufacturing processes such as the ones used in polymer products and in rapid manufacturing and prototyping technologies. The aim is to develop a critical understanding as to how these materials and associated manufacturing processes can be exploited. The module will offer an opportunity to design, develop, manufacture and evaluate a sustainable engineering solution for a bespoke application. The module will allow the students to undertake a group based design, make and test investigation project based around open ended case study data.
