Aims of the course
To enable delegates with the basic skills and understanding of multi-camera directing
To provide a thorough understanding of language, control and shooting strategy in the studio environment

Structure of the course
The course begins with task-based workshops covering the following elements:
- understanding lens performance - iris, focus, zoom, angles of view
- framing conventions and language, use of perspective and depth of field
- directing and working with studio crew and talent
- scripts, marking and editing
- countdown procedures for titles, bumpers and inserts - working with a PA and vision mixer
- safe working practice and risk assessment

Over the three days, delegates progress from simple presenter-to-camera, through 'as-directed' elements, into complex news/magazine structures including one-plus-two interviews, demonstration, multi-inserts and finally, construction/direction of a complete programme.
Programme elements are recorded with talkback on channel two for subsequent replay and assessment
