The growth of digital platforms requires presentation-neutral versions of documents that can be published in multiple formats from print to web, e-book to tablet app. This one day course, based on modules taught on MA Publishing at LCC, will cover formats such as XML, e-Pub, PDF and HTML5. Whilst not a hands-on course there will be exercises to build up your confidence in discussing these issues with technical staff.
The course will start with a brief historical introduction and a presentation of the current industry environment. This will be followed by an explanation of structured documents, illuminated through case studies and industry examples, to show how and when different formats are used.
