2. Course description You'll investigate the evolving demands of the music industry and look at the development of professional practice through the exploration of traditional and contemporary musical models. The course takes account of the variety of activities common within the music and creative industries. This is reflected in the range of group and individual activities you'll undertake on the course. You'll been given increased independence to develop your musical identity as the course progresses. You'll develop your academic knowledge alongside your subject-based skills, producing a final product which may be a performance, installation or other medium which explores the use of music and creative music technology. You'll also gain specific vocational skills with the option of following modules in either musical direction or music technology system design. The modules you'll study on the course include:      academic research skills     contemporary issues in music     music technology system design or musical direction     modern composition     product realisation     dissertation     marketing and self-promotion

Entry requirements You will need (or expect to achieve) one of the following in a music related area: • Foundation Degree (FdA) • Higher National Diploma (HND) • Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE) Mature students with relevant experience and/or qualifications in a relevant area are welcome to apply.  You will be invited to attend an interview and audition. 4.
