You will need to have four GCSEs at grade E or above and show interest in Music. You will be asked about your experience as well as interviewed about your qualifications.

The Programme
The course is split into six units or modules. The modules all relate to Music but some are aspects you may not have thought of. This course is run at the Academy of Music and Sound in Exeter
The Programme Content
You will study units that include or relate to Music Performance; recording; sequencing; learning about aspects of music; project work or study of the music business; and a final major performance that you will help to organise. The main aim of the programme is to introduce students to productions which have a Music emphasis so that they can learn how to prepare for gigs.
Progression / Careers
In the past, students from other BTEC First Diplomas have progressed to the BTEC National Diplomas. From there you can move onto Higher Education here at the Academy or college or at establishments such as Bath, Salford, TVU and East London. Some students have gone straight into a profession such as local/national performer, technician or "roadie".
