Studio Production skills are essential for anyone wanting to record artists in the professional music industry. This course will give you an extensive overview of the recording process, providing you with skills to work effectively in a studio recording environment. You will learn how to use state-of-the-art equipment that can be found in today’s audio industries, from microphones and mixing desks through to samplers and leading software packages including Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Pro Tools and Native Instruments Komplete.

About this course
The course suits all types of student interested in this subject area. Some students have no previous experience of the subject area whilst others have extensive prior experience. Must be 16 yrs and over
Level 3 Entry requirements 4 GCSEs grade C or above must include English or Maths.
Level 2 Entry requirements 4 GCSEs grade D
Equivalent to 3 A-Levels and will earn you the UCAS Points to go on to University Study.
You’ll also develop your personal, business and management skills to give you everything you need to make your mark on the music industry. You will look at how the music industry works and how to get employment in it with a focus on how to market and promote yourself in the music industry.

This course is available at all three dBs Music centres - Bristol, Cornwall, Plymouth
Level 2
An introduction to Music Production, which looks at a broad array of techniques and skills, connected with recording, editing, sequencing, mixing and composing music.
Level 3
An in depth program which looks at studio related skills including recording, editing, sequencing, mixing, effects, music and sound for moving image and composing music. You will work with many software packages including Logic Studio, Pro Tools, Reason, Ableton Live, to name a few. This is the course for the budding producer, artist, engineer, postproduction, or game audio designer.
Music Production
