This foundation degree in Music Production will give you the skills to work as a producer, sound engineer, sound designer, live engineer, composer for multimedia and film, or sound post-production for film and television. We place emphasis on practical skills for employment, and offer frequent opportunities to record and engineer with other students and professional musicians.

You’ll graduate with a competitive edge in a popular industry; having become a versatile and intelligent music producer with creative approaches to production.

Through extensive studio experience, you’ll learn to work efficiently and creatively with a wide array of processes and equipment. We’ll give you an in-depth knowledge of industry-standard software including Logic Pro X and Pro Tools, and explore the underlying principles and impact of technology on the 21st century musician.

We explore the challenges of creating sound for the moving image, and the use of music and sound to enhance narrative structures in film, television, computer games and multimedia. You’ll plan live sound events in our marketing and events management module – operating live sound systems, and developing a range of marketing techniques to promote your musical projects.
Alongside this, studying Music Production (Foundation Degree) builds your abilities in a range of more general areas, including social and interpersonal skills, building productive and business relationships, critical self-awareness, and adopting an ethical approach to the music industry.
