Using Logic's own 'software instruments', and 'plug-in' effects, and an introduction to mixing and bouncing a final mix. Have fun, get creative and harness the power of this amazing music program.

About this course

- Set up Logic with a range of basic equipment typical of a project studio
- Record and edit audio
- Record and edit MIDI 'regions' using 'software instruments'
- Use the Logic tools to extend and create sophisticated multi-track arrangements
- Make efficient use of 'plug-ins' and effects.
- Perform basic mixing and automation
- Perform a bounce to produce a final mix for CD and mp3
- Save, organise and back up your projects efficiently.

Memory stick/storage device for saving work, notepad and pen.

Classes will generally begin with a demonstration and discussion followed by practical work.
You will work on an individual Mac workstation to practise set themes, techniques and skills, applying these to your developing ideas and material.
You will present your work in progress regularly to the group and receive feedback, support and encouragement from your tutor throughout the course.
It is useful to have access to a Mac with Logic software outside class to work on your project between sessions.

- Recording and editing audio

- Using the Logic tools and keyboard shortcuts to produce complex arrangements
- Using 'plug-ins' and effects
- Basic mixing and automation
- Bounce - creating a final mix to burn to CD and making an mp3
- Saving, organising and backing up your projects.
