Course description During the course you will learn how to create, compose and record your own music productions and you will study the practical and technical skills needed to produce your own portfolio of music using industry standard hardware and software.   Specific units include:  • Sound Recording Technique • DJing Technology and Techniques • Introduction to Music Technology  • Music Awareness and Industry  You will be expected to demonstrate some experience and ability before you begin the course.

Entry requirements Students must have ONE of the following:  ? • 4 GCSEs (3 at grades A*-D, including English & Maths • Introductory Music Level 1 at merit, plus GCSE English and Maths • Equivalent qualifications - Functional Skills may be accepted in place of GCSE Maths and/or English   You will need to have some basic knowledge of Music Technology and related subjects. This will be assessed at interview. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method You will be assessed on practical tasks, projects and productions, supported by a record of written evidence.
