Musical Theatre: Performance

The BA (Hons) Musical Theatre: Performance is a unique project-based degree that offers exciting new learning opportunities in singing, dancing and acting, organised along the lines of a theatre company producing a range of Musical Theatre pieces.

Students will work together as a single cohort creating, preparing, developing required skills, rehearsing and staging a variety of Musical Theatre projects. Learning will take place largely in a simulated work-place setting (i.e. making Musical Theatre).

Teaching will be largely focused on supporting the development of useful and relevant Musical Theatre skills, both research-based/intellectual and practice-based/practical. A series of skills-developing performance projects culminates the students' own Independent Project rooted in Musical Theatre practices.

Entry Requirements

Standard Requirements:

• Dip(HE), FdA or Level 5 (second year of three-year University course)
• Audition

Equivalent qualifications and/or relevant prior experience may be considered.

English Language Requirements:

All applicants whose first language is not English are required to have attained one of the following English Language levels:

• Trinity Guildhall Integrated Skills in English (ISE) at Level III or higher.
• IELTS Score of 6.0+ in all elements.
• Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English.
• Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE).
• TOEFL (Paper-based) Score of 550+
• TOEFL (Computer) Score of 213+
• TOEFL (Internet TOEFL) Score of 80+
