Based on "Elementary training for musicians" by composer and pedagogue Paul Hindemith, this course will use his method of progressive pitch and rhythm exercises to help you improve your sightreading, coordination and ability to negotiate difficult rhythms.

Course programme
In this continuation course we will work our way through a series of enjoyable clapping and singing exercises in small and larger groups gradually progressing through intermediate level exercises.
You will learn through tutor explanation and demonstration, group and individual practical exercises, and group discussion.
Please bring a notebook, manuscript paper, pen and pencil.
You will need your own copy of Hindemith’s Elementary Training for Musicians (Schott, 2nd ed., 1996).
This is available electronically for free through Petrucci Music library, or you may prefer to purchase a bound copy for around £16 (ISBN 978-0901938169).
