You will be working in a realistic working environment treating clients to a commercial standard. The methods of study are open learning packages and practical salon workshops. This is an ideal course for those wishing to pursue a career in the Nail Industry.
About the Course
You will be taught the application techniques for acrylic, silk and fibreglass systems.
For those not working in the industry an additional qualification
(Certificate in Working in the Professional Beauty Industry) will be studied alongside the qualification which will include Consultation & Health & Safety, to meet all the necessary legislation involved with the industry.
You will be expected to carry out treatments/assessments on clients once competence is shown. Assessments using personal kit will be charged at £3.00 to cover department costs, all others will be charged according to department price list. You may, at times have to source your own clients.

To enable students to set up in business or become employed as a Nail Technician.

Practical assessment through observation by a qualified assessor, Portfolio evidence and an online examination.
Are there any resources to obtain?
A plain white tunic (order forms are available from College if required - £25), black trousers or skirt and flat, fully enclosed shoes.
£145 for Kit â€" students should ascertain that the course will run before purchasing equipment

£10 for consumables used on the course
If it is necessary to resit the examination the fee is £20.60.

What facilities can be used on this course?
Any of the purpose built salons either at Totton College or Waterside Centre.
