National Certificate in Business (Level 2.5 Course)

This course is designed to recognise and develop students' skills, knowledge and understanding of the business functions, environments and operations needed for future work in business and industry. It will also allow students to pursue further vocational study in Business or related fields. This course is aimed at students who achieved a pass at Level 2 in Business or other related subjects.

What will I be doing?
You will study a combination of six units (four mandatory and two optional). These include:

• investigating business
• enterprise and operation
• finance in business
• communication in business
• business and enterprise in Europe
• keeping customers happy

How will I be assessed?
Each of the units will be assessed through a portfolio made up of your work. This will include researching and analysing information, group work, essays and presentations. Grades are awarded for each unit and an overall grade for the qualification will be awarded at the end of the course.

Where do I go from here?
This course provides a progression route to a Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Business or other related Level 3 courses if you achieve a Merit or Distinction. This qualification is also relevant to the workplace and can be used to start work in business-related roles.

Entry requirements
An overall pass grade in any Level 2 Business course or other related courses. You also need to demonstrate a keen interest in studying Business and have a satisfactory reference from your tutor or institution.
