National Diploma in Art & Design (Photography) Level 3

Course Aims:
The National Diploma in Photography is an exciting, demanding, challenging and intellectually stimulating course, offering you a broad lens-based learning experience within an Art & Design Context.

Course Content:
Tou will study a range of subject areas, including:
Darkroom application
Darkroom practice
Design methods
Desktop publishing computer applications
Digital imaging
Experimental photography
Image manipulation computer application
Location techniques
Personal and professional development
Professional practice
Specialist location photography
Special studio techniques

You will also study a range of core Art & Design modules, including;
Drawing Development
Historical and contextual understanding
Materials
Techniques and processes
Ideas and concepts
Visual communication
Art & Design explorartion, application and realisation.

Progression:
On successful completion of the course, you may progress to Higher Education to study courses such as a degree in Photography. You may also progress into industry in professions such as an assistant photographer or technician.

Exam:
You will be continually assessed throughout the course.

Although some materials will be provided, you will be expected to provide your own paper, film, etc, which are sold through the College at a reduced rate.
There will be costs for trips during the two years.
