The Foundation Diploma in Photo Media is a unique, broad-based,
post A Level course, which enables you to explore and develop your
creative potential through silver-based photography, video animation and digital imaging. The course encourages an experimental approach to the way in which ideas and concepts can be communicated in two dimensions. The appreciation of film and photography is also covered. The course is studio and workshop
based with lectures, seminars and outside visits to galleries, such as the Tate Modern in London and the Birmingham Art Gallery. You will be given the opportunity to achieve additional qualifications alongside
your main course. These can include more specialist awards relevant to the subject you are studying.

How will I be assessed?
This qualification is assessed on a continuous basis through practical and written assignments and ongoing assessment, both by our staff and external moderators.

On successful completion you may:

progress to a degree level course in a photo media related subject, such as computer animation, photography or media studies. This can lead to careers in documentary photography,
animation, photo-journalism, television and video production.
