NCFE Level 2 Award in Helping Skills

Course Overview
The course aim is to introduce learners to the use of helping skills in everyday life and work.

Course Structure
The programme is delivered over 45 hours, once a week on Monday evenings from 18.30-21.30.

Qualification Aims
Objectives:

• Develop self awareness when helping others
• Develop listening and communication skills for helping relationships
• Assist others effectively in a helping role

Assessments/Examinations
Assessments will be made using a portfolio of evidence and tutorials are also required.

Cost / Equipment
Tuition fee is£255 this includes registration and certification.
Free tuition may be available to those in receipt of certain means tested benefits or to their un-waged dependants. If you are not in receipt of benefits but find it difficult to pay any course related courses because of financial hardship, we may be able to help.

Suitable Student Type
The qualification would be useful for anyone who uses (or would like to use) helping skills at work or in a personal capacity. These may be learners who wish to study this programme in order to progress to further qualifications, or who wish to study in order to complement other health/social care programmes, and/or voluntary and community work.

Classes will be held in the Walpole Building at the main College site.

Requirement
There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for this qualification, although learners should be at least 16 years old with a mature disposition.
