Under the new Licensing Act 2003, anyone authorising the retail sale of alcohol will have to hold a Personal Licence.
To obtain a new Personal Licence, applicants must hold a licensing qualification that is both:

* Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) accredited, and
* Government approved (accredited by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport, DCMS).

The GQAL Level 2 National Certificate for Personal Licence Holders is both QCA and DCMS approved and has been written and designed to a specification, as laid down by the regulatory authorities. It meets all the statutory requirements of the Licensing Act 2003.
