Novice Lift Truck Operators
This course is designed for the Forktruck Operator who has had extensive practical experience, (longer than 12 months), but has had no formal training and does not hold a licence.

Day One
0830 - 0900 Classroom - Administration & outline of course
0900 - 1010 Classroom - Operators safety code and film
1020 - 1110 Area -Introduction to truck, controls & instruments
1110 - 1250 Area - Starting, moving, steering and stopping
1330 - 1510 Area - Basic manoeuvres
1520 - 1700 Area - Further driving practice
Day Two
0830 -1010 Area - Further driving practice
1020 - 1110 Classroom - Lift truck stability
1110 - 1200 Area - Hydraulic system & use of controls
1200 - 1250 Area - Driving practice including use of hydraulics
1330 - 1420 Area - Load weight assessment
1420 - 1510 Area - Load handling
1520 - 1600 Area - Load handling
1600 - 1700 Area - Inspection, takeover and maintenance
Day Three
0830 - 1010 Area - Routine inspection, takeover and maintenance
Area - Further load handling practice
1020 - 1200 Area - Vehicle loading and unloading
1200 - 1250 Area - Load handling and unloading
1330 - 1510 Area - Working in racking
1525 - 1605 Classroom - Associated knowledge Examination
1605 - 1620 Area - Pre use check
1620 - 1655 Area - Practical test of basic operating skills
