Course programme

Year 1

Courses are divided into modules. You will normally take:

  • MSc – modules totalling 195 credits
  • PG Diploma – modules totalling 120 credits
  • PG Cert – modules totalling 60 credits.
Required Modules

If you are an MSc student, you are required to take all of the modules below.

If you are a PG Dip student, you are required to take the first two modules. You may then choose one module from the next two, and another module from the two after.

If you are a PG Cert student, you are required to take the first two modules, and then choose one from the next two. You will not take either of the last two.

  • Clinical Practice in Nuclear Medicine (30 credits)
  • Radiopharmaceutical & Regulatory Issues in Nuclear Medicine (15 credits)
  • Scientific Basis of Nuclear Medicine (15 credits) - Taken in your first or second year if you are a part-time student.
  • Diagnostic Nuclear Oncology & Radionuclide Therapy (15 credits) - Taken in your first or second year if you are a part-time student.
  • Practical Nuclear Medicine (60 credits) - Taken in your second year if you are a part-time student.
  • Nuclear Medicine Research (60 credits) - Taken in your second year if you are a part-time student.
