Year 1

Year 1

This new and innovative programme aims to develop nurses who can provide outstanding care across a range of practice settings while meeting all of the registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Nursing students undertake a range of modules which focus on quality care, cutting edge clinical skills, professional delivery and the knowledge and skills required to undertake them. You will learn the pivotal roles of the nurse as practitioner, partner and leader. There will be a blend of college based activities which will underpin periods of clinical practice.

Degree students become increasingly clinically focused in their second year, extending their ability to influence patient care and team working.

  • Knowledge and Skills for Children’s Nursing

The following module must be passed for this course:

  • Pan London Practice Assessment Document (PLPAD)

There are no optional modules for this course in Year 1.

Year 2

During this year your modules will become increasingly clinically focussed. There will be an opportunity for a choice from a number of optional modules. Again, practice placements will allow you to apply the knowledge gained in your modules in a variety of clinical settings. There is an opportunity for international/national elective placement during the programme.

During your final year you will undertake further placements to develop your practice as a nurse. In addition to clinically focused modules which relate to your practice, you will also complete a research module and a dissertation paper.
