Yes, an interview is required and you may have to complete an initial assessment to ensure your skills are suitable for the level of the course.

What can I progress to?
Part-time therapy courses: Anatomy & Physiology; Massage; Aromatherapy; Stress Management; Holistic; Mendi; Threading; and Nail Art.
You can also progress onto Level 3 beauty therapy courses: eg - Electrolysis and Face & Body Electrics.

What is the course about?
The course is suitable for people wanting a career as a beauty specialist - either in self-employment or within a beauty practice.
This is a practical course that involves theory and covers the following:
·Maintaining Employment Standards
·Implementing Good Working Relationships with Colleagues and Clients
·Supporting Health, Safety and Security in the Workplace
·Providing Facial Massage and Skin Care
·Applying and instructing on Make-up
·Providing Lash & Brow Treatments
·Providing Manicure Treatments
·Providing Pedicure Treatments
·Providing Wax Depilation
·Providing Threading Depilation.
On this course you will also cover Nail Extensions, which involves:
·Sculptured Nails
·Fibreglass nails (a brief overview)
·Acrylics (a brief overview)
·Tips and overlay.
To gain your qualification with VTCT you will be required to work well with others within a professional setting. There will be a need for considerable private study.

How will you be assessed?
A range of assessment methods will be used including: observation of practical skills; oral questioning; and written evidence. Continual assessment is carried out by an NVQ Assessor/Tutor.
At least 80% attendance is required.
