NVQ Level 3 in Childrens Care, Learning and Development (CCLD)(2009/2010)
Study Method:
Classroom sessions, independent study, workshops and portoflio building. Practical and creative work.
Duration :Delivery is 20 weeks, 1 evening per week. Up to one academic year to produce a portfolio.
Who the Course is For:
Students working within a childcare setting or those who already hold a Level 2 childcare qualification and want to further their studies.
Assessment:
Direct observations carried out to assess practical competence in the setting. Students will also provide a portfolio of evidence relating to their knowledge and expertise, covering all 9 units.
Course Leads To:
A related Level 4 Childcare qualification.
Entry Requirements:
Students should have either a Level 2 childcare qualification or extensive experience working within a childcare setting. All applicants must be working in childcare as they will need to be assessed within their work environment.
All students sit an entry test and skills audit.
Content:
9 units including 5 mandatory units:
Develop and promote positive relationships
Develop and maintain a healthy, safe and secure environment for children
Promote childrens development
Reflect on and develop practice
Protect and promote childrens rights
