Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People)
This NVQ is designed to reflect the work of candidates who undertake Health and Social Care activities at Level 3 working with service users/carers. The aim of this qualification is to recognise the skills and competencies of candidates in the workplace.
The qualification is about the delivery of physical, emotional or enabling care to clients/service users. The candidate will usually be delivering care in support of, and under the direction of, a colleague who is accountable in the area of practice. Candidates may often be working without direct supervision or on their own, such as in a clients/service users own home. Candidates will have a degree of responsibility and autonomy, and will be required to make decisions within boundaries and limits agreed with their team. The candidate would be expected to seek support, advice or assistance if they are unclear about what to do or if unusual or untoward
situations arise (such as significant deterioration in the clients/service users condition).
This NVQ will allow for progression to and from OCR’s existing portfolio of Health and Social Care qualifications and will complement other vocational qualifications.
