Duration
Six to nine months

The objectives of the course are;
To recognise existing competence and skills in the workplace via work based assessments. To increase knowledge of legislation and best practice by attending Underpinning Knowledge sessions. To collect evidence for the 4 Core Units and 4 Optionial Units relating to your area of care. To build a portfolio of evidence which reflects your competence in the workplace.

Assessment
By means of observations in the workplace, the provision of witness testimonies, workplace evidence and candidate accounts, oral and written questions and underpinning knowledge sessions.

Qualification
The successful candidate will be awarded this nationally recognised qualification from Edexcel.
