Overview of the course:

This is a one year course that focuses on developing your understanding of the various aspects of sport, including fitness testing and training, sports coaching, organising events and your knowledge of the human body. As part of your study programme you will also be required to attend maths and English lessons if you have not already achieved a Grade C or above in these subjects. Your timetable will consist of 12 hours contact time. This includes an hour of tutorial with your Progression Coach.

Topics:

The course is quite practical in nature but also focuses heavily on the theory behind sport and exercise. Therefore, lessons will incorporate both practical sessions, such as fitness testing and sports coaching, as well as classroom based lessons designed to look at how we coach and test fitness.
