The aim of these qualifications is to recognise the skills and competences of candidates in the workplace. The qualifications provide individuals with an opportunity to demonstrate the skills and knowledge needed for a career in business and administration. The units encompass a broad range of competencies from the administration sector. Suitable for: Modern Apprenticeships are aimed at those aged 16 or above and capable of achieving a vocational qualification (VQ) at Level Two or above. The programme can be used to train existing employees or new employees. Any company in Scotland - whatever its size - can take part in the programme. Potential trainees need to get a job before they can take part in the programme. People without a job, however, can contact a local training company such as ourselves AD Services (Scotland) Ltd.

For candidates meeting local government guidelines the qualification including registration, assessment and final certification will be delivered at no cost to the candidate or the employer. there are no entry specifications and if you have special needs these will be catered for during your learning process by the appointed assessor

The NVQs are work-oriented qualifications and are suitable for those who undertake administration related activities. They are open to candidates of either gender and there are no entry barriers on grounds of race, creed or previous academic attainment or learning.

How are these NVQs assessed?

Like all NVQs, these qualifications are competence-based. This means that they are linked to a person’s ability to competently perform a range of tasks connected with their work.

To gain an NVQ, a candidate must achieve the level of competence described in the NVQ units of competence.

PROGRAM

To achieve a full award, candidates must complete five units in total, from two mandatory units and three optional units.

Intended for individuals whose role involves carrying out a broad range of administrative activities, requiring a limited amount of supervision and working with some autonomy. The individual will be working as part of a team ensuring the provision of information and resources to others. The individual's work situation will provide the opportunity to be involved in a range of administration activities. For example: communicating verbally and in writing with colleagues, customers and clients, using IT to process and present information, dealing with visitors, providing effective customer service, and dealing with financial information.

Comments: Work based qualifications do not depend upon a written examination as you are continually assessed as you learn and gain in confidence, you do not fail this qualification, you are allowed to gain the knowledge and experience at your own pace. Normally a level 2 will be completed within 1 year or less.
Career opportunities: Gaining a level 2 work based qualification can lead onto undertaking a level 3 or 4 qualification as a senior administrator within your workplace. All NVQ Qualifications are recognised throughouth the UK as a benchmark of your practical skills and abilities
