2. Course description Oil paint is a wonderful medium which many people are interested in but daunted to try. This course will encourage learners to develop painting skills and imagination through observation in a supportive and relaxed environment. The course will touch on Art History as we work in the style of a range of artists. We will explore a variety of techniques so that you can discover the versatility of oil and acrylic paint. Throughout the course you will work from sketchbook, photographs, found images or direct observation. Learners will be encouraged to share their observations and discoveries with one another as part of the process. The tutor aims for you to have fun and produce confident paintings. Learners can choose to work with oils, acrylics or both. Working methods or techniques will be explored in terms of how they serve vision and imagination rather than as an end in themselves.
