Finishing Techniques
The most difficult part of knitting a garment is generally agreed to be the finishing.
After a short introduction you will learn:
- What blocking is and when to use it.
- How to sew in ends.
- The different ways of sewing up: backstitch, mattress stitch or by crochet.
- Adjusting and easing in sleeves.
- Picking up stitches.
- Replacing a rib with a picot hem.
- Shortcuts such as: weaving in ends, sewing up in parts and knitting sleeves simultaneously.
- Do short row shaping.
- 3 needle cast off.
- Make and space out buttonholes.
- Sew in zippers, elastic waistbands and add lining.
- Lightly felt your wool garment.
- Shape and sew up using a sewing machine.
Classes are held in the shop with a maximum of 7 students per class.

Sunday 11am to 4pm
Cancellation Policy
Full refund of deposit will be given for cancellations made up to 2 weeks prior to the first day of scheduled class. After this time, refunds will be given only if the spot can be filled by another student. Please be considerate.
