The oil tanker is that professional figure dedicated to the spill of oil inside oil tankers, a tanker used for the transport of crude oil or derivatives. In addition to pipelines, the only way to transport large quantities of crude oil is to use these ships. The national oil system is characterized both by a marked dependence on crude oil imports and by a large oil refining activity for the production of products destined for the foreign market, for the most part diesel and petrol. The risks associated with the transport of crude oil and, more generally, petroleum products are linked to spillage at sea. To better understand the oil spill process and to establish the necessary measures to be taken to minimize its effects on the environment, it is essential to have data available on the composition of the crude oil and on the whole of the chemical-physical degradation processes triggered after the spill. By examining the characteristics of the operators and the evolution experienced by the professional categories of the sector, reference should thus be made to different types of employees corresponding to the different segments and sectors of the supply chain. However, below we intend to provide descriptive elements on the evolution experienced in particular by the category of fishermen, as protagonists in the modernization process of a production sector that is undergoing profound transformations, while not severing its link with the millenary tradition. that characterizes it.
