Aimed at those who work with children, this course is ideally suited to those in early years care and education. Although many topics covered will be on our general first aid courses, the main objective of this course is to give you an understanding of the most common injuries and illnesses affecting the very young.

The qualification covers the following topics

  • Allergic reaction
  • CPR for babies and children
  • Unconsciousness
  • Disorders of the airway
  • Disorders of circulation
  • Meningitis
  • Sickle cell
  • Wounds and bleeding
  • Croup
  • Febrile convulsions
  • Epilepsy
  • Broken bones
  • Hypothermia
  • Choking

Duration - 2 days (or 1 day refresher) EYFS Recomend only the 12 hour course
Assessment method - Continuous observation/multiple choice paper
