The construction industry has had for many years a traditional apprenticeship programme covering the craft occupations. This framework will help to attract, retain and develop talent into a range of craft occupations at Intermediate (Level 2) and Advanced (Level 3) in construction building and provide progression to supervisory and management level in order to provide the industry with a well-trained productive workforce.

About this course




By the end of your apprenticeship you will have achieved:

Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Decorative Finishing and Industrial Painting Occupations;
Level 2 Diploma in Painting and Decorating;
Functional Skill in Maths Level 1 (if required);
Functional Skill in English Level 1 (if required);
Employee Rights and Responsibilities;
Personal Learning & Thinking Skills.


English Language GCSE Grade E or Functional Skill Level 1;
Maths GCSE Grade E or Functional Skill Level 1;
Working in a role such as Painter or Industrial Painter.

Course Assessment Method

You will be assessed using a range of methods such as; Direct observation of tasks or activities, examination of work products produced by learners (e.g. diary notes, site notes, completed reports), examination of witness testimonies from people, other than the assessor, who are prepared to provide statements detailing specific details of learners’ performance, review of records of ‘question and answer’ sessions covering specific aspects of the knowledge and understanding and Professional discussion. All of these assessment methods will build your portfolio of evidence.
