For students with some experience who wish to take their painting further.

The course will make use of both acrylic and oil paint and will enable you to enhance the expressive possibilities of colour. Students will develop an understanding of the optical illusions at play when placing colours side by side on the canvas and how effects the impact of a colour.

We will also explore the possibilities of coloured grounds and coloured underpainting.

Tutor demonstration Practical activity One to one guidance Group discussion. Basic materials will be provided but you are welcome to bring any extra or special materials. Students who have their own set of brushes are recommended to bring them. Students are also recommended to bring their own photos, drawings or objects to inspire their paintings.
