The Advanced Apprenticeship is made up of a 'framework' of four qualifications. 1. NVQ Level 3 Logistics Operations Management 2. CILT Level 3 Certificate in Logistics and Transport 3. Key Skills - Application of Number Level 2 4. Key Skills - Communication Level 2 Candidates should be responsible, or looking to develop responsibility - for the day-to-day running of things and making sure that quality, cost and efficiency of the supply chain meets standards. Skills range, current or future, might include monitoring stock and keeping records; managing the receipt, storage or dispatch of goods; developing relationships with customers and suppliers; and providing leadership for the candidate's team.

Course length:
The actual time taken will depend on the experiences, and attributes of the individual candidate and the time taken to meet the assessment requirements. It is, however, anticipated that most candidates will complete the framework within eighteen to twenty-four months.

The Logistics Operations Management Advanced Apprenticeship is intended to develop people to step 6 on the Stairway (supervisor). Further progression opportunities therefore reflect the range of career options within a logistics environment, which could include:
