Summary:

The Diploma provides an enhanced understanding of insurance practice, both in terms of technical subject matter and overall management skills. This is a professional qualification for insurance staff working across all sectors of the industry (and the logical progression from the Diploma in Insurance). Whether you are already working at managerial level or aspire to, this will demonstrate your professional standing and can be your passport to a successful and fulfilling career.

Entry Requirements:

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)'s entry requirements apply.

Core Skills:
A variety of units are studied, some compulsory and some specialist options. You can study without committing to the full qualification as a 'Record of Achievement' is awarded for each unit completed, providing portable and permanent evidence of the learning you have undertaken. These credits are permanently retained and can be built upon, if and when study is recommenced at some point in the future.

Assessment:
A variety of assessment methods are used. These include: multiple choice, multiple true/false, case study-based or essay questions. The method of testing for each unit is selected on the basis of what is most appropriate to the type and level of learning being undertaken. Multiple choice and multiple true/false exams are now tested online providing greater flexibility for candidates.

Career Progression:
Successful completion allows you to apply to use the designations 'ACII®' (CII membership and Continuing Professional Development requirements apply). From the Advanced Diploma you can apply for Chartered status (subject to having five years' experience, not necessarily post-qualification). Chartered status cements your professional standing and gives you parity with other professionals such as accountants and solicitors.
