About this course

Normally students 16 - 19 years of age will require a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A* - C. Those wishing to study Art should have a grade C or above in a related subject and/or a portfolio of work. Entry for mature students without formal qualifications is at the discretion of the Faculty.

Career Prospects and Progression

A Levels provide an excellent basis for progression to Higher level qualifications such as degrees or Higher National Diplomas. Textiles can provide skills which can be used in a wide range of occupations including Fashion Design, Colourist, Merchandising, Stylist, Buyer, Costume Design Stage, Film and TV, Interior Design Domestic or Contract, Printed Textiles, Woven Textiles, Embroidered Textiles, Surface Pattern, Gallery Work, Exhibition Organiser, Restoration or Teaching.

The AS has two coursework units each worth 30?,a supervised timed task worth 40?.The A2 has one course work unit worth 30?, a personal investigative study worth 30?,a supervised timed task worth 40?.
