Suitable for: Anyone using a chainsaw for work or domestic purposes. This course is perfect for those who will never need to fell trees - ie. Fencers, firewood loggers, builders, etc. Operators who are working for professional foresters or utility arborists (eg. Railtrack or the Forestry Commission) or those wishing to continue to felling trees over 200mm or tree climbing will require a separate NPTC test.

About this course

All trainees must be over 16 years of age and in good health. Some First Aid training is advised.

Who should enrol

1 day for experienced users (3 years experience recommended) 2 days for less experienced users.

Certificate
Lantra awards certificate of basic training.

Validity
Valid for life but refresher training recommended every 3-5 years

Pre-requisites
All trainees must be over 15 years of age and in good health. Some First Aid training is advised.

Persons with certain ailments or on certain medication may not be able to take part in the practical sessions

What should I bring to the course?

Chainsaw helmet, Chainsaw gloves, Steel toe-capped Chainsaw workboots, Chainsaw trousers (Type C). Also Chainsaw in good working order, tools & manual, Fuel / Oil, Felling Level, First Aid Kit, 2 passport photo`s.
