WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE COURSE?
There are no formal entry requirements; however knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology would be advantageous.

COURSE STRUCTURE AND CONTENT
Unit 205 - The aim of this unit is to enable the candidate to specify the principles and practice of basic massage techniques used primarily for relaxation and well being in a safe and effective manner.
The definition of basic massage technique includes massage of the head, face, scalp, lower leg and foot, arms and hands using a selected range of massage mediums.
Unit 201 - Introduction to Principles and Practices for Complementary Therapies
Unit 202 - Introduction to Clinic Services and Business Awareness for Complementary Therapies
Unit 203 - Health, Safety and Hygiene in Complementary Therapies
Unit 204 - Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology for Complementary Therapies

ASSESSMENT
Assessments will be graded pass, merit or distinction and include:

  • Practical observations
  • GOLA multiple choice knowledge test
  • Assignments covering practical assessments and knowledge related tasks
  • Case Studies

WHERE COULD THE COURSE LEAD?
This qualification is not considered acceptable for professional practice by the industry but will allow for career progression to certified massage courses and full professional Level 3 Diploma courses.
This is an ideal progression onto the Aromatherapy course which continues after this course completes.
