Course Content

The OCR Entry Level Certificate in Using ICT (Entry 3) has been designed to recognise candidates` practical skills in using information technology to carry out straightforward tasks in a range of vocational contexts.

Course Features

The OCR Entry Level Certificate in Using ICT (Entry 3) is part of a coherent suite of IT User qualifications available at Entry Level and Levels 1, 2 and 3 of the National Framework of Qualifications.

The OCR Entry Level Certificate in Using ICT (Entry 3) facilitates a flexible, unit-based approach, which allows candidates to work towards individual units. Candidates can work towards the units in any order and teachers/tutors can tailor learning programmes to meet individual situations.

In order to achieve the full award, candidates must meet all of the stated assessment requirements for each of the four units.

Career Prospects and Progression

This qualification is appropriate for post-16 learners in a variety of full or part time programmes of study. It encourages progression by assisting in the development of the skills and knowledge that students need to undertake further study in ICT i.e. Clait 2006 Suite.

Method of Assessment

Students will produce a portfolio of work that will have been completed during the year under the guidance of a tutor. Successful completion of this portfolio will lead to certification.
