The programme is aimed at candidates who wish to work towards a Level 2 qualification in Bricklaying but are unable to gain the necessary industrial experience. On completion of the necessary industrial experience, trainees will be able to gain an NVQ Level 2 qualification in Bricklaying.

About this course
No formal entry requirements are required, but a reasonable level of communication, arithmetical and manual skills is an advantage. This must be demonstrated through short aptitude tests and at selection interview.

Part Time Bricklaying - Diploma Level 2
Course Description:
Trainees attending this programme will be working towards individual unit credits for a Diploma Level 2. A modular pattern allows trainees to progress at their own pace on units of competence approved by the Construction Industry Training Board and City & Guilds. Trainees can also work towards individual units.

Entry Requirements:
No formal qualifications are required, however applicants may be required to take literacy, numeric and aptitude tests and to prove suitability for the course through an interview process.
Progression & AssessmentAssessment and Progression:Achievement, Assessment and Examinations
A combination of coursework assessment for bricklaying elements and multi-choice examinations, leads to successful achievement of the Diploma Award.
Progression
On completion of the Diploma Award, progression routes available include;
i) Collect Work Based Evidence from the workplace and convert the award to a full NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying.
ii) The Diploma Level 3 Award [if certain criteria are met]
If you are under 19 on 31 August when your programme begins and study more that 12 ½ hours per week, you will be entitled to free tuition and no examination fees, wherever you live provided you are a European Community National. Mature students may also qualify for free tuition and no examination fees, please ask our Student Services for details.
