Course Description: The National Certificate course operates on a 'day-release' or evening only route. The course introduces students to a wide range of construction related knowledge. The course is recognised nationally and internationally as a progression towards Higher Education and professional opportunities within the Construction Industry.
Activities include classroom-based learning, building and land surveying. Work is assessed via written assignments and participation in practical activities including material testing, surveying and setting out processes.
Entry Requirements:
- 4 GCSEs at grade C or above or equivalent (one to include Mathematics) or a
- BTEC First Diploma in Construction (or a related area) or
- An Intermediate GNVQ in an appropriate related area.
Progression/Career Opportunities: Many students use their qualification as an entry requirement for Higher Education. Successful completion of the course can enable students to progress to trainee management positions, or pursue a career in Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Surveying and Construction Management.
