This 2-year course provides a mixture of nationally recognized training, with the emphasis placed on ?Learning by doing? whereby academic work is reinforced by practical activities.

Entry requirements
Ideally you would have successfully completed a C&G 6958 Level 1 Electronics Servicing qualification or other similar qualification. Applications from mature students are most welcome

What will I study?
You will study the C&G 6958 Electronic Servicing Level 2 course. Units specify the competence required to work from circuit and wiring diagrams and layout drawings and identify, select and assemble components and wires needed to produce and test circuits operated by low voltage power supplies. You will also study electrical and electronic principles with an emphasis on electronic systems.

How will I be assessed?
This programme is assessed by continuous assessment of practical competencies. In course assessment of practical assignments will be carried out. Students are given the opportunity to sit, external examinations that lead to a City & Guilds 6958 Electronic Servicing Level 2 qualification

Career Opportunities & Progression
Having developed fundamental practical skills and an understanding of electrical and electronic concepts, employment opportunities exist in the field of Electronic Assembly and Automation. You will also be able to progress to City & Guilds 6958 Part II.
